Our Mission

To walk with her - every next stage.

Social Butterflii exists to empower girls to be seen, heard, and understood - walking with them through each next stage of life, from girlhood into womanhood.

Our core focus is social-emotional learning for girls from under-resourced communities, with a deep commitment to at-risk girls in juvenile detention centers and alternative schools, alongside community programming that reaches girls wherever they already are - Milwaukee is our year-round home base, with Dallas programming concentrated in the summer months.

Social Butterflii serves girls specifically through SEL, resilience-building, and transitional living - while our career and college readiness programming is open to all youth ages 16–19.

"Every girl deserves a mirror that tells the truth, and a circle that helps her see it."

The Journey

Three phases.
One girl, all the way through.

We meet girls in adolescence and stay with them as they grow into young women - with the housing, mentorship, and stability to make that possible.

  1. Phase OneLive now

    Ages 12–17

    SEL & Resilience for Adolescence

Social-emotional learning and resilience-building for girls, delivered in group homes, alternative schools, juvenile detention centers, and community sites across Milwaukee and Dallas.

  2. Phase TwoLive now

    Ages 16–19

    Career & College Readiness

Employability skills, career exposure, and college readiness support for all youth - not girls-only - bridging young people toward their next step after high school.

  3. Phase ThreeFuture vision

    Up to age 24

    Transitional Living

Supportive housing paired with continued mentorship for girls stepping into adulthood - with the future possibility of a location serving boys as well.

Our commitments

Four promises we keep, every single circle.

01

A judgment-free space

Girls arrive as they are — no performance required. What's shared in the circle stays in the circle.

02

Identity, then everything else

Before confidence, before leadership, there's the quiet work of knowing who you are and celebrating it.

03

Sisterhood as strategy

Girls grow faster when they grow together. We build friendships that hold, not cliques that harm.

04

Women who show up

Our mentors model confidence, compassion, and leadership — and stay long enough to be remembered.

Programming

Three pillars in service of the mission.

Programming is how we live the mission — not the headline. Each pillar exists to put SEL, readiness, and youth voice into the rooms where young people already are.

a note to her —

You don't have to have it all figured out to belong here. You just have to come as you are.
